Burna Boy: 20-10-20
Burna Boy is here again with new conscious music which references the infamous Lekki Massacre, where the Nigerian military opened fire on unarmed protesters.
He titled it 20-10-20 and without mincing words, Burna Boy calls it murder as he sings “…nothing wey you go talm wey go justify the case of their murder.”
The Elements-produced track, is a call to the appropriate authorities to critically investigate this event, and bringing everyone one involved in the unfortunate incident to justice.
According to him, “the proceeds of this song will be used to support families of victims and people suffering affliction as a result of the Lekki shootings. May the heavens open and celebrate all our fallen heroes who have died for this movement from the very beginning. Rest In peace to all the beautiful lives lost”
Wizkid: Made in Lagos
Wizkid has dropped his much anticipated album – Made in Lagos.
The album is dedicated to the brave Nigerian youths who stood their ground in the wake of the #EndSARS protest. It was originally scheduled to drop on the 15th of October, but in respect to the protest, Wizzy had to push the date.
According to him, “it has been beautiful to see Nigerians around the world coming together to protest against police brutality. Unity is key! The youth of Nigeria need our collective voices to continue to shine a spotlight to what is happening inside the country. I want to play my part in this and in the movement for a better Nigeria, a better place to live for ourselves, our families—our communities. We will get through this together. Together we move, #EndSARS.”
The 14-track album, released via Sony Music International/Starboy/RCA Records, features guest appearances from Burna Boy, Ella Mia, H.E.R, Skepta and Tems.
