New Music Playlist – American Edition

Its was a wonderful weekend of music galore in the American entertainment scene as Music lovers got an overdose of new hit singles and albums.

This new playlist features songs from music Hall of Famers like Nas, Mariah Carey, Lecrae, Katy Perry and a host of others.

New Albums

Nas – King’s Disease

Leading the pack is Nas’ new project”King’s Disease”.  After 30 years of being in the rap game, Nas lyrical proficiency are still as crisp and sharp as ever.

On this one, Nas addresses the issues of racism and domestic violence. While also celebrating the heroics of a few black people whom he feels are underappreciated. 

This amazing body of work comes loaded with guests features from Big Sean, Dr. Dre, Charlie Wilson and others.

Lecrae – “Restoration”

Grammy-winning Gospel artist, Lecrae dropped his 10th studio album which he titles “Restoration.” A 14-track project which features John Legend and a few others.

In his own words, “There is healing on this album, but you have to be willing to admit you’re broken in order to be healed.”

Accompanying the album is a documentary with same title -“Restoration” and his second book titled “I Am Restored: How I Lost My Religion, But Found My Faith” a follow-up to his New York Times best-seller – Unashamed.

Blackbear-  “Everything Means Nothing” 

Blackbear is also out with a new album which he dubs “Everything Means Nothing.” Earlier, he dropped “Queen of Broken Hearts” as lead single off the album.

Following the success of Justin Bieber‘s “Boyfriend” which he co-wrote, the artist has been up on his game with “Foreplay” as his debut EP.The 12-tracked project is the artist’s 5th studio album.

New Singles

Mariah Carey- “Save The Day”

Mariah Carey has dropped the lead single, “Save The Day,” off her upcoming album – The Rarities. The Jermaine Dupri-produced music features Lauryn Hills.

According to Carey, the album will be a collection of all unreleased tracks throughout her 30-year long career. Also, “The Rarities” project will be accompanied by a memoir titled “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” to be released on September 29th via Andy Cohen Books.

Katy Perry- “What Makes A Woman”

Last but not least on this new playlist, is Katy Perry‘s What Makes A Woman. Katy speaks up on topic of women power in the society.

“Is it the way I talk sweet, the way my skin is soft?Or how I can be a b*tch, and make you keep your fingers crossed?”

This new track, produced by Johan Carlsson, comes shortly after she premiered the official music video of her new album title track.
