Katy Perry recently dropped “Daisies”, a track which preaches perseverance, resilience and stresses the importance and power of the can-do spirit. And unlike the rumours, it doesn’t feature Taylor Swift.
Daisies, debuted in the early hours of May 15th, after which Katy treated Fans to a livestream session via Houseparty in the evening.
Daisies just like “Firework” and “Roar” is an empowerment anthem about surviving every trials and rising up gallantly, even after life’s attempt to subdue you.
Perry revealed that this new track is off her fifth studio album – KP5 (the nickname fans coined for the yet to be named album). The album is expected to be released on the 14th of August through Capitol Records.
The visual opens up with Katy singing in a field of flowers, adorned in a light, breezy dress. She proceeds to a creek where she goes completely uncladed… and BOOM! She put to rest the numerous speculation about her pregnancy.
The soon-to-be mother made an artistic and colourful television debut performance of the song during the season finale of American Idol on May 17, 2020
Lyrics:”They said I’m going nowhere tried to count me out.Took those sticks and stones, showed ’em I could build a house. They tell me that I’m crazy, but I’ll never let them change me. Til they cover me in daisies, daisies, daisies.”
Following the release of “Daisies,” Perry has unveiled a new aspect of her web store – Katy’s Daisies, that affords fans a chance to send virtual floral bouquets to friends and family.
