Lady Gaga in partnership with WHO and Global Citizen organise world’s biggest online Concert to raise awareness about CONVID-19
Multiple Award winning singer, Lady Gaga is collaborating with Global Citizen and the World Health Organization to create a virtual concert on the 18th and 19th of April, to be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert. Tagged: “One World: Together at Home” campaign.”
In a recent Instagram teaser by Global Citizen, Lady Gaga says
“I’ve been spending all my time in creating this special that is going to be on NBC, CBS and ABC. I want to highlight this global kind community that’s coming together right now. Fallon, Kimmel, Colbert, not in any particular order. Super excited. And NBC CBS and ABC all agreed to let me have all three of you”
“Now, amid the coronavirus pandemic, our health-care workers, doctors, nurses, EMTs and support staff who risk becoming infected themselves—who risk infecting their own families—are making extraordinary sacrifices to care for the rest of us.”“These are the Heroes of the Coronavirus Pandemic,” -Washington Post (March 27th, 2020).
The virtual concert is therefore, merely an effort to celebrate healthcare workers on the front line of the pandemic and to raise awareness for the WHO’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund. (A $35 million fund put together by Lady Gaga).
A long list of Musicians and Celebrities will be joining Lady Gaga at the virtual concert, and this list includes Elton John, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Chris Martin, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, David Beckham, Idris Elba, Burnaboy, Lupita Nyongo and Cassper Nyovest, among others which will be performing live from their individual homes.
Digital live streams, for this event, would be handled by most of the globally recognized social media networks from Facebook and Twitter to YouTube and Twitch, as well as being available for free online streaming via a number of popular services.
