Jhené Aiko‘s highly anticipated third album is finally out- Chilombo.
Since 2017, when the Grammy-nominated artist dropped Trip, her fans worldwide had to wait this long before getting another. Although, initially slated for February 2020, Jhené had to postpone the release date till March 6.
The 20-track project features an all-star lineup of appearances from Future, John Legend, Miguel, Big Sean, Ty Dolla $ign, Nas, Ab-Soul and Aiko’s father, Dr. Chill.
Aiko revealed that she had travel to The Big Island of Hawaii (her great great-grandmother’s birthplace). Where she was inspired by the serenity, natural and alluring beauty of the location.
Little wonder, the singer whose full name is Jhené Aiko Efuru Chilombo named the new album after herself.
“Chilombo is a word that means wild beast. They’re strong, confident and graceful…Beasts are also beautiful”.
Jhené will be supporting Chilombo with a North American tour beginning on 1st of May.
