The NeoSoul Nigerian Queen of Music is back!
Sade made a brief come back with a new song “The Big Unknown” heard on Steve McQueen’s new film, Widows.
The song was created especially for the final scene of the ‘Widows’ movie. According to a press release, McQueen “encouraged her to dig deep within to write a song about loss and survival.” The stirring song was inspired by the film, but stays true to Sade’s timeless sound.
“Sade is an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material, but luckily the original series of Widows had deeply resonated with her.”- said McQueen.
Widows, the big-screen adaptation of the British television series, is now open in theaters across the U.K.
Sade is also reportedly working on her first album in eight years, according to her longtime collaborator Stuart Matthewman. “When we’re happy, then we’ll let everyone else hear it”.
